Created By: Linda Barhydt Students in Mrs. Schrock’s fifth grade investigated science questions. Some of the questions were: Can water float on water?, Will the color of your house affect your heat bill?, Can a nose taste?, and What’s the best preservative in making a mummy? One group built a hover board and stood on it. Great minds at work!
Created By: Linda Barhydt Every year in December or January, our Kindergarteners read different versions of the Gingerbread man. By the time we read the 2nd version, the kids know the book well enough that they can tell the story. We bake a gingerbread man and like the story, someone has opened the oven and the gingerbread man has run away. Our gingerbread has left clues to ask staff members – we saw Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Hull and Mrs. Wray, Dr. Metcalfe in the office, the lunch ladies, and Mrs. Barhydt in the Computer Lab. Mrs. Lantz told us the gingerbread man was going to rest during lunch time because he was so tired of running around the school, but he would see us again after Library time. Our Librarian, Mrs. Roberts told us Mr. Wiggles and the Gingerbread Man had been reading stories in the library and then to see Mr. Sheets who was teaching his 5th graders math. We finally found the gingerbread man back in our classroom and enjoyed him for an afternoon snack.
